繼 2018 年 Little Mix 發行的專輯 LM5 後 ，睽違了兩年她們於 11 月 6 日發行了她們第六章專輯《Confetti》，共收錄了 13 首歌；而在這專輯發行之前已經有三首歌 〈Break Up Song〉、〈Holiday〉和〈Sweet Melody〉以單曲的形式發行。

前一陣子，團員 Jesy Nelson （左二）因身體不適而缺席了一些表演活動，而在專輯剛發出不久後，她們的公關人員在 Twitter 上聲明，表示 Jesy Nelson 因為私人健康原因將延長離團的時間，讓許多粉絲在慶祝新專輯發行的同時，開始擔心 Little Mix 未來的音樂活動會受到影響，甚至憂懼她們會面臨解散的危機。

〈Sweet Melody〉是一首具有故事性的歌曲，以敘事的手法從女孩的觀點出發。故事中可知女孩的前任曾經是個對她唱著甜美旋律的音樂人，然而男孩用了他的音樂才能和魅力欺騙了女孩；雖然表面上看起來他是愛著女孩的，欺騙與劈腿事實擺在眼前⋯⋯最終，這段關係最終還是破裂了。
從歌詞的第一段：「he was in a band／wrote love songs about me／I wasn’t crazy ’bout the words／but the melodies were sweet」（他在樂團裡，寫了關於我的情歌／我並沒有因為那些詞而感到瘋狂，但那旋律很美）可以了解男孩是樂團的一員，而他寫了關於女孩的情歌；即便當時她仍不是他的忠實粉絲，她卻承認那首歌的旋律十分甜美。
