〈Be Kind〉是 Halsey 與 Marshmello 的第一次合作，在這之前 Halsey 已經與多位 DJ 合作過，包括與 The Chainsmoker 合作的冠軍單曲〈Closer〉 以及與 Cashmere Cat 合作的〈Hopeless〉。

在這場戀情中，對方因為過去的傷口始終無法敞開心胸，總將悲傷留給自己，無視身邊的人對他伸出的援手。Halsey 在這首歌裡嘗試理解對方的心情，並耐心的陪伴在他身邊，用溫暖熨平他生命中的稜角。從 Halsey 的音樂總能看出她為愛奮不顧身的特質，就如她在〈Graveyard〉中唱過：「我會跟著你一起步入你生命的墳場（I woulda followed all the way to the graveyard）」，即使會跟著對方一起粉身碎骨，她也義無反顧。
Halsey 在今年年初剛發行完她的第三張專輯《Manic》，這張專輯是她出道至今最貼近她真實模樣的作品，而〈Be Kind〉也延續了這樣的真誠，展現了 Halsey 的感情觀。雖然 Halsey 並沒有透露太多關於她下一張專輯方向的資訊，但她曾說過想做一張風格與〈Experiment on Me〉相似的專輯，所以也許可以期待未來能聽到一個更搖滾的 Halesy。
